Active Homes is the solution!

Active Homes is an SCI Action Canada initiative where apersonal trainer and a physically active peer (from the CPA-Ontario Peer Volunteer Program) visited participant’s homes and administered a FREE 75-minute exercise training session.
The personal trainer and a peer worked together to guide the participant through a personalized resistance-training program with the aim of having the participant learn new ways to be active right in your own home.
A few important details:
- Participants for the Active Homes study were recruited from the Toronto and Kitchener/Waterloo area.
- Active Homes was tailored specifically for people with paraplegia; however, a tetraplegia version of Active Homes is currently being developed.
